when updating to 8.5.1. from 8.5., the excel and word toolbox vi's are gone

I updated from 8.5 to 8.5.1 and now my vi's with excel and word sub vi's do not work.  I re-installed the toolbox for Microsoft office and this did not help.

How can I get the excel and word sub vi's to work?

I tried uninstalling lv 8.5.1. through the control panel, add/remove programs.  I only uninstalled lv 8.5.1. and not all the other programs.  Once re-installed, the functions palette still shows no word or excel sub vi's.

Did you uninstall all of the labview programs and toolbox, or just labview 8.5.1?

Thanks,

Mark

Are you using the report generation toolkit?

After uninstalling 8.5.1. and the toolkit, I reinstalled 8.5.1. and then installed the toolkit.  Strangly enough, my vi's now work with the toolkit sub vi's, but I still cannot find the MicroSoft Office sub vi's in the functions palette, even with the search function.

A complete reinstall of LabVIEW is something that may not be required. The document here however suggests that the Report Generation toolkit needs to be uninstalled and then installed after an upgrade. I would recommend you to just uninstall and reinstall the toolkit.

I have uninstalled the office toolkit and re-installed it to no avail.

I now have ? boxes where the sub vi's should be.

NI has recommended I track down each sub vi and reconnect them to the proper file or sub palette - that seems like a lot of work since there are about 30 missing.

Are you able to find the palette now? Also previously, did you ever move that Office VIs library to another location?

I had to reinstall the files (not using the installer) into the original location.  The path for the missing sub vi's showed the wrong location on the C drive, but copying the files to the right locations enabled the sub vi's.  I found the path in the tools, advanced, edit palette menu.

Thanks for your help.
