HI,
I installed Labview 2010 on my laptop and then when i tried connecting a c-Rio to it, it did not detect the c-Rio. i was told that i need to install some drivers to be able to connect the both together.
thanks,
Anant

You can download (its huge) device drivers from this link.
After download, run the setup and make sure to install 'Reconfigurable I/O'.

Thanks a lot, while i am downloading that, i also wanted to know, would a lack of that driver cause the c-Rio not to be detected by my laptop? i have connected the c-Rio to my laptop using an ethernet cable, but there is no light glowing on the c-Rio confirming the connection.
Basically i just want to know if the downloading and installing of the drivers would fix this problem?
Thanks

Hi Anant,
Drivers for our hardware are usually required to connect to the device and are always a good starting point if you have connection issues.
I would also like to share two links which you may find useful:
http://www.ni.com/compactrio/setup/
http://www.ni.com/compactriodevguide/
Downloading the drivers should allow MAX to detect the c-RIO, though when mentioning the light glowing on the c-RIO – do you mean the ones close to the Ethernet port? (As this may imply a network issue).
Either way, you will require the RIO drivers, however if you do have any further issues feel free to reply and we can look into this further with you.
Thanks again,

Aiden,
Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Yes, i did mean the light next to the ethernet port. they were not glowing when connected to the laptop. I did install the drivers and have had no luck whatsoever.
is there anything else i can try?
Thanks

Good morning Anant,
Hope you are well.
Have you also tried using another Ethernet cable?
Would you be able to try connecting the cRIO to another computer or Router if you have one available and check the LEDs ?
Could I ask which cRIO and computer OS you are using?
The LEDs next to the Ethernet port show activity on the network. Can you confirm you are using the primary Ethernet port on the cRIO (if your model has multiple ports)?
Thanks,
