whether the HP iPAQ 2490 will match CF 6004 card

We have CF 6004 card. 

(i) I do not know whether the card is of type I or type II.

(ii) Will CF 6004 card fit inside the PDA from HP iPAQ 2490? The specifications of the iPAQ are:

: Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium Edition software for Pocket PC with

MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet Explorer, Windows Media player Mobile

and Outlook

Kindly highlight on these two points so that I can purchase the PDA, if found suitable.

Thanks for contacting National Instruments.  According to hp's website, the 2490 does have a type II slot.  Also, if you look at the datasheet for the CF-6004 it states that it is a Type II card.  Let us know if you have anymore questions.

Hello Sam,

According to the documentation I could find on the HP 5500 series (including the 5550), the only built in expansion slot is for SD. You can however purchase both type I and type II Compact Flash accessories for the device. You would need a type II accessory to use the CF 6004. Hope that helps!
