which portion of installer to find Express I/O config VIs?

Under LV7.0 and Win98SE, portions of my Express I/O have dissapeared. For example "Configure I-O Assistant.vi" used by the Read an Display example. The installer seems to think everything is present. Using custom install, under which install module can I find the missing bits, and how can I convince the installer to install them.

Hi FredLS,

It seems as though this issue has been detailed here as well. In the end it seems as though the other posters resolved this issue by using the LabVIEW 7.0 installation CD. They used the \components\lv70iioa\LV70IIOA.msi installer. Using the LV70IIOA.msi installer, first they removed the NI Instrument Assistant. Then they reinstalled the NI Instrument Assistant. Finally, they installed the NI Instrument I/O Assistant.

Let me know if this works for your situation.

Hillary,

The installer "\LV70IIOA.msi" seems to have done the trick. I did not perform any uninstalls. I found the KB article cited in the first reply myself. Yours, I didn't find. A glossary of installers and components would be helpful addition to distribution disks. In my experience, LV works well enough that a casual user such as myself doesn't often need to know such details. It's almost as if it was a Mac application 😉

Thanks for the help,
Fred
