I've just bought a new laptop with Windows7 32-bit operating system and cannot install Labview 8.2. I'm interested in getting the 2009 student edition, i'm just wondering if it will run on my machine?
The 2009 student edition homepage specifies only vista/xp and 2000,

Brian

Any reason why 8.2 won't install?
I have no issues running 8.2 on windows 7 (though I have a licensed full LabVIEW).

8.2 is giving me the "error 12" message when i try to install, seems like many people are coming across this problem if you search in the forums. The 8.2 version i have is the full version, and i'd prefer to use it.
I've heard that 8.2 will run on windows 7 but you have to boot up in xp mode or something, not sure!

Hi Brian,
In LabVIEW Student Edition Frequently Asked Questions it doesn't mention Windows 7 in the System Requirements so it might not be "officially" supported, but the full version of LabVIEW 2009 works with Windows 7... So it might do. Older versions of LabVIEW won't work with Windows 7.

Oh yes they will work!
Fortunatly Microsoft takes their users seriously and keeps the OS back-wards compatible (unlike another commercial OS developer).
I have 7.0 (and every newer version) running on my windows 7 laptop.
