I -am having the same problem. I am trying to write a tab delimited text file and it never worked when I have my installer install the exe in Program files location. I then switched the installation to C:\. It doesn't write there all the time. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. I finally relented and changed security options on C:\ because this is getting really annoying. The fact is, it is very inconsistent when it comes to writing it to the file. Is there something I can do differently?

Hi VeeJay,
by default, everything in Program Files is read-only.
To make a file or folder read/write, you need to specify this in your installer. See here for instructions:
