6036E acquisition failure

Hello

System used:

-PC W7 32bits

-Acquisition card DAQCard-6036E (PCMCIA) link to a NI BNC 2110.

-a force sensor connect to the BNC 2110 for the signal.

-I installed on the pc the drivers (NIDAQ980f0) and LabWindows Run time 2013.

I have a failure during data acquisition with a program compiled on Labwindows/CVI 3.1.

I check the card with NI MAX tools and the card received a signal according to the force sensor.

When I used my LW/CVI program, it received nothing. Before the program worked well on XP 32 SP3. May be the problem is on the computer settings (DAQCard-6036E driver and LW/CVI settings) or in the program (I join it to this message)

The program I use was compiled long ago. I have not the last version of Labwindows/CVI. So, I tried to install LW/CVI 3.1 on the Pc but the installation failed.

Thank you for your help.

Regards

Jérôme

I would be surprised that a program written for windows 3 would run on Win7! Smiley Surprised CVI 3.1 was released in 1996 or so!

On the other hand I am surprised it runs on XP: was it running in compatibility mode?

Which was the configuration on XP machine? Can you replicate it on the new PC? (meaning the run-time engine, which I suppose was not the 2013 version, and the exact NI-DAQ release). Try installing exactly the same software on the Win7 machine. You could also take a look at this document from Microsoft.

Even if you happen to make the program running by chance, there is absolutely no guarantee that the system will correctly perform what is supposed to. You should consider puttig your application up to date.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

ONe hint more: are you sure you installed the correct driver for your daq board? Your program is using Ni_DAQ, which is now called Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) and is no more developed by NI. Now, the last release of this driver is 7.5 which is not the 9.8.0 you say you have installed: may it be that you have installed the newer NI-DAQmx instead?

This is the link to Traditional NI-DAQ support page, where you can download the right version for yu system.

By the way: is your program starting with errors or it does not start at all? Can you tell us the error you are receiving?

I have no experience with your device but I'm not positive you will succeed in using it under Win7 with Traditional Daq and the old software: it's simply too old!

For your information, this is the support page for your device (Traditional DAQ is not even mentioned since it is outdated).

You're running a risky way with little informations and support (if any) and only a few fellows with you! Nevertheless, I have found this recent forum thread that refers to a situation similar to yours: it's not solved yet but you may link to it and look for further help there.
