Alternatives to LabWindows/CVI for network shared variable communication with CRIO

I need to retrieve data from a crio through network shared variables without LabView and without changing the existing CRIO code. Is there any way to access those shared variables without using LabView or LabWindows/CVI (I would prefer not to start a new LW/CVI project since it's getting discontinued). Are there any standalone C/C++/Python/whatever libraries that would support the network shared variable protocol and that they work on Linux?

NI-PSP is proprietary and I'm not aware of general libraries that communicate with it. You should ask the question on the NI-Linux forum.
