Thanks for the feedback, Wally. We completely understand the problem, and how cumbersome it is to try to maintain two versions of the same development environment. A port to Linux is a major engineering effort, and while we haven't ruled it out for the middle/long term, I have to say that there are currently no plans to do another one in the short term. It all depends on convincing management that it will be cost-effective to do so, and doing that will require a lot of user requests. Yours helps 🙂

I went back and re-read my response, and you're right, I didn't make that distinction very clear. Sorry about that
. I was in fact referring to porting the CVI RTE's "newer than 8.0" features to Linux. While that's not nearly as much work as porting the full ADE, it's still a significant porting effort that we would have to prioritize against expending that effort on other CVI features instead.
