I would like to create a client application which connects to a DAQ application running as a Windows Service. Prior to the client being granted access, it needs to authenticate as a valid Windows user. (local or Domain). I have been pouring over the NI Web site and have found a few references to the Windows SDK. In further research I have found references to GINA (Graphical Identification and Authentication) as well as other remote login functions in the Windows SDK. These at first glance seem to be very challenging to implement. Can any one recommend a basic approach to authenticating the Windows user information (ID and Password) input by a client application?
