Havnt used CVI in 10 years. Updated to CVI 2017. It crashes (CVI closes itself) when I try to load in example programs. Dont have renewed service contract yet, but should be soon.

It's possible that the installation here might be corrupt.
If you could, please follow the procedure in this article to ensure that that installation is correct.

This sounds like a very common use case. If this not turn out to be an installation issue: if you could provide exact detailed steps, this will be useful to be able to provide with a workaround for your issue.
