CVI 9.0 ambiguous error - "A custom control callback has raised an exception"

Thanks for those files...it is still looking for more include files though: MotnErr.h and nimcBasicTypes.h ... Can you post those files, and look in those files and see if there are any includes inside of those include files that need to be added?  I didn't know we needed  these before because these files were included in the latest include files you posted (MotnCnst.h and flexmotn.h)

I apologize for the trouble.  Once we get all these files, it will be much easier for us to reproduce the issue.

Thanks again!

Eric B.,

I uploaded the two files to the ftp site.  The file is named 12S AF More Include Files.zip.  I looked in each file to see if they include any other #include files and didn't see any.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave and I took this offline and we eventually found that installing NI-DAQmx 8.9 (upgrading from 8.7.2f1 on his system) resolved the issue.  He was able to reproduce the issue on multiple computers and we were unable to reproduce the issue on multiple computers, and we found the difference was the version of NI-DAQmx.  Upgrading resolved the issue.

I have been experiencing the same error message when trying to compile a release version of my code. It started to occur after adding a menu callback. The error goes away if the menu callback is removed. The code compiles and runs in the debugger with the new menu callback. I recently installed DAQmx-8.9 and still get the same error. After acknowledging the error, CVI 9.0 frequenctly crashes. I don't have any custom controls that I know of and my code does not use any DAQmx-8.9 commands. Can you offer any suggestions? This is serious issue which has stopped my development process! Help!

Hi chill,

I tried to reproduce the error based on the information you gave, but I was unsuccessful.  Can you strip your source code down and post the smallest bit of code that will reproduce this issue?  This will help us a lot in debugging your issue so that we can pin down where the error occurs.

hornsbyr,

CVI 9.0.1 was just released, but it is not a free update.  It can be downloaded here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1283/lang/en .  However, whenever you purchase our software, you get a year of enrollment in SSP (Standard Service Program) which entitles you to free updates for that time period.  If you speak with the person that manages your software, you should be able to get access to download and activate 9.0.1 if you are enrolled in SSP.
