you can try with the sample_dbg.exe.manifest file in the bin subfolder of CVI directory

That one will work, but for your purposes, you need to change the requested level from asInvoker to requireAdministrator.

Thanks for all your help.

I will be looking deeper into the manifest file.

If i recompile the old software with CVI 2009 if user administrator the UAC does not prompt. Which i except.

I accedently tick the run as admin and this caused the prompt. it is still wierd why it prompted me because i the user is an admin.
