CVI Windows, C editor window truncating Functions

When editing code in the CVI code window auto generated functions are truncated and then when I try to edit code it screws it up.  On inspection of the code in Notepad the code is correct, it is the CVI window that is not displaying the text correctly.

Any ideas?

Hi Nathan

Could you post some steps to reproduce this? I can't find a log of similar behaviour. Could you also give some background to your system? Has it been installed long? Does it only behave like this for autogenerated code? What version of CVI is it? What OS are you using?

Looking forward to your response,
Sarah

Sarah,

This is a fresh install on a Windows XP machine.  The CVI version is 5.5.1.  Both autocode generation and directly typing into the code editor window results in screwy text.

I have no steps to reproduce this, whatever I do, new project or existing project the code window is messed up.  I've been using CVI for about 5 years and have never come across this before.  The 5.5.1 version I have been using for about 2 years on an older machine.

Thanks,

Nathan.

Hi,

This is probably down to the version of CVI you're using. I don't think XP was around when CVI 5 was released so it won't have been tested. According to some release notes I've found it was supported on Win 3.5/95/NT.

I think the only thing you can do is upgrade, or go back to an older version of Windows.

Hi Nathan,

Have you looked around for a word wrap option?

Have you tried reinstalling?

I'll try installing it today and see if I'm seeing the same thing.

Hi Nathan,

I can't find a log of any behaviour like this on our internal database and I can't reproduce it on my system here.

It's possible a setting you may have changed is affecting this in which case I would suggest a reinstall to get back to the original setup.

As this appears to be specific to your system I'm afraid there's not much I can do to help, unless you have more information you think is relavent.

If reinstalling doesn't help, you may need to consider rolling back to the system that did work.

The screenshot obviously shows a proportional font being used, instead of the more usual fixed font. I'm guessing that this is confusing the CVI editor display - have the standard fonts on the PC been modified unexpectedly?
