Cannot read data from keithley 6485

I am programming with labwindows to control keithley 6485.

However, READ?\n command does not work at all.

That command only works after I reset the keithley 6485 by *RST\n command.

If I change some settings (like measurement unit), then READ?\n command does not work.

Why I can use READ?\n command only in default setting?
