Converting a LabView driver to a DLL then calling that DLL from CVI

Anyone out there have LabVIEW and would be willing to click a button to convert a vendor instrument drive to a CVI DLL for me?

I see that NI makes an exporter for just this task, but the requirements are that LabVIEW already be installed.  The setup.exe doesn't even load on my machine.

The vendor of my instrument makes LabVIEW drivers.

I would be willing to help you but the tool you linked is limited to LV prior to release 8.5, which is quite old.

Which instrument do you need to convert the driver for?

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Thanks, Roberto!  It's their RGA product.

I do see now that their LV kit is only 8.5.  If it doesn't work, no worries.  I thought it would just make a good starting point.

Hello ElectroLund,

I'm afraid I won't be able to help you in this matter. I actually have found a machine with LV8.2 installed so I could try using the exporter you linked previously, but this only converts project-style drivers, which the driver you need appears not to be.

On the other hand, conversion requires some knowledge in LV that goes beyond my expertise.

You may want to try reposting this question on LabVIEW board: hopefully you can find somebody there who will be able to help you.

None to worry, Roberto.  Thanks so much for trying.  I'm well on my way to building this DLL myself.
