Data Logger

How can I do a Data Logger with CVI ?. I want to use Citadel like LabView,LookOut or Max because Citadel is integrated with those products. Is it possible to get Citadel software and informations ( like table format used with NI products )?

Pierre,

Thank you for using the discussion forums here at ni.com. Unfortunately, CVI cannot write to a Citadel database. You can use SQL commands in CVI to read information logged by another application, but you cannot use SQL write commands to add to the database. I would highly recommend that you consider using the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control module. The following page outlines some of the useful features included in the module:

Pierre,

If you have CVI and VI Logger you will get the CVI Logger function panel (a library of fuctions to log data with VI Logger's Task configuration in MAX). With these functions you can create fast, easy, and complete logging applications with CVI.
For more information please see: NI VI Logger - You can also download the evaluation version.
VI Logger works well together with NI DIAdem to post-analyse your data.

The LabVIEW DSC Module and Lookout use our internal defined streaming database, called Citadel. There is no way, beside those two products, to log data to this streaming, measurement database because there is no (public) API for it. The whole streaming database for measurement data is not
easy and it would not make sense to have a public low/mid-level API (there are no current plans to have one).

Hope this helps
