Distribution kit CVI 8 - executable to run after setup

Hi,

I'm used to create distribution kits with CVI 7, but now I have the new CVI 8 and there are some features that I can't find. In fact I need to launch a program in order to register a DLL that I need to run in my application, and to create some additional files. Before with CVI 7 it was easy, in the Advance menu there was the option "Executable to run after setup", now with CVI 8 I can't find this option. Is there a new way to do this ?

Hello,

In the distribution editor, select the Files tab. Right-click your exe-file in the 'Installation Files & Directories' window and select 'File Options' from the Popup Menu. There you will find what you are looking for.

I totally agree with you that this option is hidden pretty well in CVI8.

To launch an executable after installation, go the Files tab in the Edit Installer dialog box, find the file that you want to run in the list on the bottom-right of the panel (you have to include in the installer the file that you're launching), right-click on it and select File Options. Then select the "Launch After Installation" checkbox.
