Distribution kit with LabWindows

Dear Sirs,

After finish a software, I've a problem.

The final user is using Windows 98.   The problem is due to Manage Distributions options in LabWindows.

In advance options (in Manage Distributions), the minimum operating system version is Windows 2000.

I need the possibility to make a distribution kit for Windows 98, the customer cannot change the operation system, due to problems with other softwares.

Well, according to NI documentation windows 98 is no more supported starting from CVI 7.1 on. It does not mean that an executable cannot actually run on this system (supposing you are not using very low level or hardware-specific functions it very likely will run), but NI does not give any warranty that it does. You may find some informations in Luis answer to this post.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

The only real option if you MUST install it on a Win98 system is to use an earlier version of CVI to build the project and distribution kit.

The only other (possibly) viable option is to have the customer update the system to Win2K or XP.
