Effect of RTE in software behavior

If I have a distrution kit that uses CV15.5 but then after running it I install RTE 7.1(since I was told that this was a good idea), does every time I use the distribution kit I will go back in the RTE version? And if so does this can change  the way my software behaves?  Is this a good practice to use RTE newer that the version of CVI that you are using?

You can use a later version of the runtime, but unless you need to, i would recommend sticking to the same version. The best practice is to use the same version of the runtime engine as you do with CVI.
