I plan to use some NI Digital I/O PXI cards to do some testing.
This is simple, GO/NO-GO testing.
Is there a standard format my test vectors need to be in to load the PXI cards and step through the test sequence ?
I am starting with a family of LASAR generated tap files.

Hello Fonzi,
Thank you for bringing this issue to the forums. I have a couple questions for you.
1. Do you have any particular NI Digital I/O PXI cards in mind?
2. What kind of test vectors are you trying to run? Digital bit waveforms?
3. What software are you going to use to create these test vectors? NI Teststand?
4. I am not too familiar with LASAR generated tap files, could you describe this a little bit more?
From what I understood from your first post, I think I might have a potential solution. Please take a look at the NI PXI-6551 a 50 MHz Digital Stimulus/Response card. The latest version of the NI-HSDIO driver software adds the ability to perform on-the-fly comparisons of expected data with acquired response data. With these module features, you can implement a wide range of digital stimulus-response applications, such as functional testing of memory chips and bidirectional communication.

Hi Fonzi,
We have a COTS tool that reads in LASAR TAP files and creates HWS waveforms for 655x series cards. It also creates C-code to generate code for the 654x series.
If you are interested in dicusiing this give me a call or email chuck@gemsate.com or 321-258-0856
Good luck

Hello Karun,
Global Engineering Management and Support, Inc (GEMS) has developed a set of tools that allow you to process LASAR TAP files and post process them to various NI PXI-HSDIO cards. GEMS offers training related to LASAR Test Program Set (TPS) development, NI-HSDIO instruments and on the specifics of using our products to efficiently design and integrate your software GEMS also offers LASAR generated Guided Probe and Fault Dictionary diagnostic options that can be deployed with the GO/NOGO TPSs.
GEMS software is currently deployed at several large military depots.
Please call or email me and I will reply with copies of the specifications/literature for each product.
