How can I estimate the quality of the music ?

The music was inputed by LineIn port of the sound card .I want to know whether the music include a noise element. I couldn't simply analyse its power spectrum using fuction AutoPowerSpectrum in LabWINDOWS , as the frequency of the music isn't single and steady.Looking forward to your advice!

Hi Lab,

If you know there is some noise in the music then to filter it out you need to know the frequency range for the noise or the frequence range for the music. If you know one of the frequency ranges you can remove the frequencies of noise.

I can look more into it if you can provide me with some more information like kind of music quality you want to estimate, what is the possible source of noise, what kind of music it is, etc..

Also, if you want to learn more about the sound functions that are available, you can look here

I hope it helps,
Rajiv
