How do you set the path of directories when you do a find?

How do you refine the list of files the Find command does when you're doing a multi-file Find search in CVI 7?  I currently have more than one project in my workspace.  However when I try to do a search for a keyword in multi-file setting, I constantly have to uncheck the files I don't want CVI to search through.  Is there a way for me to set the Find command to search in files in the active project only?

Hi!
In CVI 7.1 you can set  a search directory....., just look to the picture.

Is this what you were looking for?

   Bye.

I understand you can enter the directory in that window, for the find to search.  But is there a way to not have the CVI's directory included in the search.  I've noticed when I have a couple of projects in the same workspace, the contents in those non-active projects are also included in the search list.  My question is, is there a way to just populate the contents from  the active project into that search list?  One thing that bugs me the most is how I have to search through the list of files and unmark the files I dont' want to include in the search.  It's okay when you have only one project in the workspace.  However, when you have multiple projects in the same workspace, it becomes a very big nuance.

Hi!
  I understand!

I tried to do it, but it seems that CVI dirs are always included, there seems to be no "exclude" option....

Okay, now it's my turn to not understand.

If I'm understanding the two of you correctly, you are saying that if one enters a specific (non-CVI) folder in the "Directory" control of that dialog (for example "c:\LabWindows progetti") then CVI will search through that folder, and also through the CVI installation folder? That is definitely not expected behavior, regardless of how many projects exist in one's workspace.

Also, are you sure you unchecked all the "Additional Files" in the list at the bottom, using the "Clear All" button? If you haven't, that might explain what you are seeing.

hi Luis,

My problem is not in unchecking the files in the "additional file" list.  My problem is how the "additional file" list is being populated.  If I have multiple projects in the workspace, that list grows depending on what's in those projects.  However, I'm only interested in doing a search on the files inside my active project.  For some reason, the list inside the "additional file", seem to be sorted in no particular order.  There seems to have been moments when it includes files that don't pertain to the active project or any of the projects inside the workspace.  I am currently working on a project where I load multiple projects inside the workspace. It's becomming a hassle to have to go through the list (hundreds of files) to only mark a couple of the files I need.

If you have organized your project source files into different directories, you can just search the directory you're interested in, leaving all the "Additional Files" unchecked.  This will search only the files in the directory you specified, which sounds like what you're after.  The Additional Files list is populated with files from the projects in your workspace, along with other files from directories in the include path; I don't believe there's a way to change that behavior.
