I want to use pxi-1006 CVI6 and WINXP

I have upgraded to a PXI-8105 controller and WinXp but I want to use my old software on this new system with as little change as possible and I am finding this a very difficult task with NI's very complex software.

My old setup was:
win2000
niswitch/nidmm 1.6
8176 controller
pxi-1006 chassis
NIDAQ 6.9.3

New setup:
winxp
NiSwitch/NiDMM  ? found NI-DMM 2.1.0 but NI web seems to hide the old drivers.
       NI-SWITCH 2.0
Looks like I need NIDAQ 7.0 but will CVI 6 be OK ?

8105 controller
pxi-1006 chassis
NIDAQ 6.9.3     6.9.3 does not seem to be listed on the web anymore...and NIDAQ7.3 tradional is not same as 6.9.3
because NI2501/2503 are only supported in NIDAQMX
I do not want to use NIDAQMX !!!!

any comments..Thanks.

Hi rorOttawa,

All of the drivers you mentioned can be found on the Drivers and Updates webpage. Some searches will provide more than 1 page of results so you may have to flip through a few pages to find it. You may want to take a look at this article to get an idea of what drivers will work with Windows XP and CVI 6.0. In addition to this, you can install traditional NI-DAQ 6.9.3. You will not have to use NI-DAQmx to control your switches, they can still be controlled using NI-Switch.

Hello tnek

Yes thanks for the info. I already found that info in drivers section and downloaded the drivers but it also said I needed CVI 7.0

I was a bit suspicious of that thinking that if you use nidaqmx you need CVI 7.0

So thanks for the link to that other article that proves that combination of drivers works with CVI6
