Install CVI Runtime with Windows Group Policies

I have been trying to deploy the 7.1 and 8.0 versions of the CVI runtime (CVIRTE.MSI) by using the Windows Domain Group Policies however I get the error:

"Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment information from the package.  Run validation on the package to ensure the package is correct."

I have check numerous Microsoft articles on this error such as checking to make sure the package is not already installed on the computer creating the policy and that the computer is using the same verions of the policy.  I have also made sure that I have updated to the lastest version of the Windows Installer (3.1 Version 2) and still I get the same error.  I don't see this with any other MSI files I am trying to install.

If I run the MSI file manually it works fine and if I use the command line switches to install the package it works fine, however I do need to use the Windows Group Policies for various reasons and if possible I would like to use it.

Hello Jordan,

Unfortunately, we currently do not support the MSI deployment of CVI Run-Time Engine through group policies. I would encourage you to file a product suggestion for this so that R&D can consider implementing it in the furture versions of CVI. You can do so here by navigating to the 'feedback' link.

Thank you and best regards,
