Installer has insufficient priviledges

I have created an installable executable under Labwindows CVI 6.0. When trying to install it on a Windows 2000 machine I get "Error 1303 The installer has insufficient priviledges to access this directory: G:\NI_Developer_Suite. Log on as system administrator or contact your system administrator." The local drive on this sytem is C:. What is the installer doing trying to access a network drive during installation ? Is it as simple as just logging in as adminstrator to install the program ?

Hello

You would need to be logged in as administrator to install the software, Windows 2k will not allow you otherwise. If you are concerned about the location, i think during some point of the installation, the installer asks or double checks the installation path with you, so you could try specifying the larget there.

I hope this helps

Make sure that you have privileges for the drive you are trying to install to.  If you are an administrator and you still can't install, you need to give Full Control to the Everyone group.  This can be done by right clicking on the folder or drive and selecting 'Sharing and Security.'  Go to the security tab and make sure that the Everyone group and your user name have full control.  This solved the problem for me.

I found this solution here:
