I am porting a Windows based application to Linux using the CVI linux RTM. The problem is that on Linux the surface displays in the application have a bogus colormap. If I define either a color map or a grayscale map the colors used in the surface plot are always the same incorrect colors.
Most of the work has been done with the use of VNC which is where I looked first for configuration problems concerning color mapping in VNC. The configuration is OK and the issue persists when I run the application directly from the terminal connected to the Linux box.
The next test I tried was to use another flavor of Linux. I have tried running the application on Red Had Enterprise Linux 5.2 and Mandriva 2010 with the same unsatisfactory results. Both flavors I have run from the terminal (no VNC).
I also presumed an error in the ported code and so created a small test application which is attached. It actually displays the colors used in the colormap fine when used as the background to text fields. But the colormap is still bogus in Linux - not in Windows.
The following snapshots tell the story:
Application running in Windows XP (Normal Operation)
Application running in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 (PlotIntensity call not working)
Application running in Mandriva 2010 (PlotIntensity not working)
Test app running in Windows XP
Test app running in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2
Test app running in Mandrva 2010
I also attached the test program if anyone else wants to try it out on Linux.
This is an absolute show stopper for us and we need help!
Thanks,

Hello and thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will see if I can reproduce this on a Linux Machine and will file a bug report for our developpers. If I need any other information from you, I will certainly let you know. Thanks again,

Hello Pete -
We have verified the bug you have reported, and have recorded it with bug ID 230824. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the bug, there is no work-around available for the issue. We will have the issue fixed in the next release of the Linux run time, which is scheduled to be released by the end of the year. We will also have a beta for the Linux run time that should be available sometime in the next couple months. Please let me know if this time frame does not suit you.
thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience,

Hi Nick,
We are pressed for time on this one. Is there any way we could get the beta sooner than a couple months to test it out? Two months to wait for the beta is too tight for us. There are a lot of other things happening in the port that need to be tested, but we'd rather ensure that all graphical support is functioning properly before continuing to test other aspects. The UI is central to the product's usability so there is no sense in testing the other parts before we can confirm that the UI will work.
Please contact me off forum via email to discuss further and possibly set up a telephone conversation.
Thanks,
-pete
