Measurement studio and LabWindows CVI

I hope that I am not asking a dumb question, but it may end up it is. Anyway,

I am new in using Labwindows/CVI, or measurment studio. My first question is what the difference between measurement studio and LabWindows/CVI. I have measurement studio installed. Does measurement studio consist of ms for VC, ms for VB and LabWindows/CVI?

It is quite confusing actually. It all depends on the version of CVI we're talking about.

Before 7.0 it used to be CVI with the ability to import CVI projects to Microsoft Visual C++, now it seems to be seperated. If you get Measurement Studio you get CVI tools and libraries for Microsoft Visual Studio and you only get to USE the NI libraries and classes in C# or VB or Visual C++. I had Visual Studio 6.0 and the upgrade to 7.1 is now called Developer Suite Standard edition. That now include Labview, measurement studio Enterprise edition and version 6.0 support CD's, but you have to have the other products to use the tools, it's not pasrt of the NI distibution.
