UI editor bug with many tab panels

Hello NI,

I am afraid that I have found another bug in the UI editor: since I was too lazy to provide a stripped down UI I have uploaded the full UIR file as wolfgang.uir in your incoming ftp directory. Please check and let me know if you could reproduce the error...

Here is the description:

  1. Click on TABPANEL_5_RING_6 to select it
  2. Press SHIFT+F10 to display its coordinates
  3. Increment the top coordinate from 168 to 169 (or any other value)
  4. Press OK

You will notice that on pressing OK the control moves (as expected) by one pixel, but also that the upper four tab panels disappear altogether!!

You can choose other controls and will observe the same behavior.

Wolfgang

by the way, a workaround is needed urgently: while it is possible to move controls without the SHIFT+F10 popup window, it is virtually impossible to change the width of a control by say two pixels without this popup window...

I was unable to reproduce this behavior. I tried it with version 2010. Can you attach a picture of what it looks like after the tab panels disappear?

It sounds like the z-plane order of the tab panels might be getting messed up. Try double clicking on the tab control that is not displaying properly and cycle thru the tabs in the edit dialog. Maybe that will correct the z-plane order.

Hi jared,

thank you for looking into it! Me, too, fails in reproducing this behavior, it appears that after saving it and restarting CVI the panel behaves properly. I'll try more and let you know if I find a recipe for reproduction.
