Unable to debug CVI application

Hi,

I am unable to debug my CVI project(APP1). I am using CVI8.1.1.When i click debug button it is giving a pop-up as attached in the screen shot below.Pls help me regarding this. In Release Mode i am not facing any issue. Only in debug mode it is creating problem.

I have also CVI8.5.1 in my PC. With that also i am facing same issue.

To my surprise, i am able to debug other applications(Eg:APP2) with CVI8.5.1.  and i am able to debug APP1 in other system without any issues.

I am very confused like whether it is any OS related issue or CVI related issue.

Any help will ne greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Harika,

there is no attachment to your message...

In any case, you may have left the IDE in release mode (Build >> Configuration >> Release menu item) : in this condition te debugging options are disabled. You shoulg get a warning window like this one, but in case you've ever selected the "Don't show this message again" checkbox in the past you won't receive it.

Check that you are in debug mode and see if you still experience the problem. Note that the build mode is project-dependent, so other project may run well if they are in debug mode.

If this is not the case, please add some detail more and the screenshot of your message.

Ok, you've posted the screenshot while I was responding.. Smiley Wink

This kind of errors usually refers to some DLL not properly registered in the system: you may need to reinstall some software package; alternatively, you may try to copy the dll to the project directory: the application should be able to find it and work correctly.

Hi Harika,

I never had such problem but a fast check has shown that the dll is present in my system too: it is stated it pertains to "NI mx Driver Framework" which I don't know exactly what is it.

I made a search in the forum founding this only thread that addresses such a dll : even if it relates to Labview, I seemed to understand that this dll is part of DAQmx and that an incorrect order of installation of product in the system may cause problems with it. So the question is: do you haveDAQmx installed in the system? And have you installed it before or after CVI? If you happen to have it installed before CVI, so you have to run the installation program again to add DAQmx support for CVI.

Hope these suggestions can help you.

Hi Robert,

I have DAQ 8.5 in my PC.I installed first NI Device drivers CD, then CVI 8.1.1.Is this creates a problem.???

But CVI 8.5.1 is behaving properly.....

Shall i need to install any other version of DAQ software or this is OK.

Thanks,

Harika

Hi Harika,

you told you have tried to reinstall CVI (8.1, I suppose?): this may have altered the environment for this version of CVI only in case you have installed it in a different directory than version 8.5.

You may try copying the relevant files from the directory of the newer release to that of the older, following this suggestion by BilalD: I hope this will be enough to restore your system.

But since you already have 8.5, why are you trying to maintain this project on version 8.1? Couldn't you move it to the newest release of the IDE?
