Using 5142 with 5600

Hi,

I have a 5600 downconverter and 5142 digitizer. I was using this configuration as a 5661. So, using ni_RFSA driver for initializing and data acquisition.

Now, I want to use first channel of 5142 with 5600 and second channel as digitizer only. First of all is it possible to use 5142 as this configuration?

I'm trying to use ni_RFSA driver for 5661 and ni_SCOPE for the second channel of the 5142. First initialization and data acquisition from 5661 is OK then first initialization and data acquisition from 5142 is OK. But, then acquiring new data from 5661 fails because of all settings done for ni_RFSA are lost after initiating 5142 with ni_SCOPE?

What can be a solution for this situation?

Regards,

Murat

Hello Murat,

When using the 5661 you are in fact using both channels of the 5142 to handle the I and Q information. You can see this by taking a look at the Onboard Signal Processing (OSP) block diagram, which is the system we use for our digital downconversion.

That being said, it make sense that initializing the RFSA session will work, and then initializing the NI-Scope session (after the RFSA session is closed) will work, but the RFSA settings are lost. You can only configure the scope to be used by itself or with the 5600 as an RFSA device.

I hope that clarifies the situation for you!

Regards,
