Using NI 9214 16-Channel Thermocouple Input Module

Hi,

Now that we have the NI 9214 with NI TB-9214, 16-Channel Thermocouple Input Module with

Terminal Block how do we go about using it?

It was not obvious as to what or where I get the instruments drivers for this, so any direction would be good?

Also I have the CVI sample code, ContThrmcplSamps-IntClk.prj, are there any others about?

Hi Simon. I've just started working with this also. What are you using the NI 9214 with?? I am using a cDAQ and when I downloaded the drivers for that ... it automatically recognized the NI 9214. It also installed tutorials and sample code. You can download the DAQmx driver from here: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-run-time-engine-15.0.1/5425/en/

Hi Simon,

Minimum driver requirements for all modules can be found using the software support tool and selecting the module you are interested in, in this case C Series modules and accessories>:NI9214.

The latest NI-DAQmx driver version, is as above, the NI-DAQmx 15.0.1: https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-daq-mx.html#288239 and the latest NI CompactRIO Device Driver is the NI CompactRIO 15.0: https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-compactrio.html#306674

I'd recommend having a look through the Example Finder (through LabVIEW>Help>Find Examples) in particular the "NI 9214 Getting Started.lvproj".

You could also try www.ni.com/examples/ to see if there is anything suitable available. The search can be narrowed using keywords and filtering i.e. Software>LabWindows/CVI
