Version 8.0.1 Perforce Problems

I have just received Labwindows/CVI 8.0.1 and installed.  I also had a copy of Labwindows/CVI 7 installed at the same time.  After install of 8 I started up and openned a previous project.  I got some error telling me that there was a problem with my Perforce Client and it needed to be re-installed.  It looked like it was working fine but I re-installed the client anyway.  After I finished the install I tried to re-attach a perforce project and got an error: ERROR: Path 'c:\Program Files\National Instruments\CVI80\vss/'''is not under client root 'c:\perforce'
I have my Perforce Workspace local path set to c:\perforce but it looks like CVI is forcing it to try to point to the wrong local folder.  Nothing I have done has helped and it does it on new and old projects.  I have tried to repair the install of CVI, I have re-installed Perforce Several times.

I have tried everything, I have uninstalled 7, I have tried to delete projects and workspaces and start from scratch.  No matter what Labwindows keep trying to set the local perforce directory to a folder that is not in the Depot tree.

PLEASE HELP,

Hello Tyson,

Perforce has the requirement that any files that you check in/check out/etc must be physically located somewhere under the client's root. In your case, it sounds as if your project is located under the CVI installation tree (c:\PF\NI\CVI\...) while perforce expects all of your files to be under c:\perforce. This doesn't mean that your connection to Perforce failed, it just means that you cannot perform operations on the files of this particular project.

So, the question is, why did this only start happening with CVI 8.0? Did the path of this project change when you switched to CVI 8.0? If the files are now under the c:\...\CVI80 tree, then I'm guessing that they were under the c:\...\CVI70 tree previously (CVI would have automatically fixed up the paths, in this case). If that's the case, where did you have CVI 7.0 installed previously? Also, have you gone back to CVI 7.0 to confirm that you don't get this error when you load this project?

One last thing... if you run p4win (the perforce standalone client) are you able to see the files of this project listed?

Luis
