Vision CVI

Hi Every body...

HUM... where to start...

I have CVI 7.0

I bought the IMAQ Vision library...

First can some body explain me the pilosophy behind ROI, MASK and manipulating them... individually...

Usually... like other imaging library... You create a ROI and you do every thing you want with that region... Now Create a ROI... create a contour... fine up to here... but need to play with window... with mask
and only function with a mask parameter that seem to be OK...

Second some function seem to not work well... copyrect to another image... Never work to me

Now... here is my application.. from whom I have problem,,,

I have an image... 1200X350... there is a wood board in it... usually 1200X270... so need extract this portion to work on it...

-- do a static tresholding...
-- do a blob analysis... to get the bounding box of the wood board
-- Now need to create ROI... within that region... OK hard but know how...
-- On each region need to create and histogram... again... wizbiz... but know...
-- HUM... Now how I work individually on those region... like make a segmentation based on the Histogram study... Did not find that one yet...

-- and after that I will need to make blob analysis on each separatly... and alot more to do...

Hosnestly it is the first time I have a hard time with NI software... I have almost every thing to attach with CVI...

It would be of greatful help to have a well written white paper... I'll write once I know... 🐵

Best Regards...

Steph

There is a lot of general information available on the NI website about ROIs and masks. You might want to try posting more specific questions on the Vision Discussion Forum to get more exposure to other engineers using the Vision software.

Here is a link to a document on ROIs:

I guess I'm not too clear on what your question is, if you could provide some more information on what functions you are having problems with, that would be helpful.
Here is a link to How to Create a Threshold of an Image Mask:

Hope this helps.
