What does Media builder return code 551 mean?

When building a distribution set it seems to go through the whole precess and then at what seems to be the very last moment it returns this error. But I cant find any referencee to any builder errors in documentation.

Mike,

I am sorry that I can't be more helpful but I have not been able to find a concrete answer to your question. The installation technology used in CVI 5.5 and before is from a third party that has since stopped making it. It is very hard to get any support.

Here are some suggestions:
Make sure the floppies are good and not write protected.
Make sure you are not pulling from someplace strange (subst drive, networked drive).
Make sure that the disk you are building from has plenty of space, but not more than 4 GB of free space (this caused problems with the old technology).

Other than that I can not find anything about error 551 on any website.

Its a shame that NI dont have a record of possible error codes, the builder may be from a third party and has stopped making it, but it was new once and all documentation should have been available at the time. What is odd is that I have built this very same code on this machine before, I have since been able to build it on another machine. I'll let you know if I ever find out whats causing it. Mike.

Jeff, your last Comment about the free disc space is relevant. There must be a difference between WIn2000 and NT. On the NT machine I seem to be able to build to my network drive which does have more than 4Gig free, but using the WIn2000 machine to build to the same place I get the Error. I have now successfully built to floppies on the win2000 machine. Thanks for the help.
