What is a valid source and destiantion for the NIVLM 2.0 network installer

Solved!
Go to solution
Hi,

I am trying to create a network installed version of Labview 8.0, Labwindows CVI and the latest Measurement Studio.  Now, when I have started the network installer from the options menu in de NI Volume License Manager 2.0, I select the browse button the choose the Source CD and I select browse to choose the directory wich is to hold the created package. Clicking NEXT shows a error message saying: Select a valid source and destinantion for the network installer.

Can somebody tell what a valid source and destinantion directory or where I can find answers to this problem?.

thnx in advance

I have found out that copying the complete install disk to a subdir on disk leads to a valid source. I have not changed the destination. Somehow NIVLM wants write access to the Source disk.

It is too simple to believe I am the first to find this .....

now, on to the next problem.

Hi Ruud,

Unfortunately, we seem to have missed that when we released VLM 2.0 a couple weeks ago.  Our engineers are working on a fixed version of VLM 2.0 over the weekend and should have it ready for you by Monday.  I'll post on this thread when we've updated the VLM 2.0 download.

Thanks!

Hi Raud,

We've posted a new version of VLM on the web.  It's at the same location as the previous NI VLM 2.0 installer.  You can get to it here.  You don't have to uninstall your earlier version of VLM 2.0.  Just install this fixed version of VLM 2.0.

Thanks!
Shannon
