Why can't I use NI-DAQmx in CVI Full 8.0

I have installed my LabWindows/CVI 8.0 Full upgrade which just arrived, along with the instrument drivers, and NI-DAQmx is not available.

My NI-DAQ-DIO-24 PCMCIA card is found by MAX.  NI-DAQ Assistant seems to work when called inside CVI.  But, the NI-DAQmx selection in the library pull-down is grayed, and cannot be selected.

What's wrong?

(PS.  The "Ask an Engieer" page does not allow questions regarding LabWindows/CVI 8.0, thus I cannot get support).

Hello,

When you go to Library -> Customize menu do you have the NI-DAQmx option checked?
If it is checked, then did you install the DAQ drivers after you have installed CVI 8.0? I suggest you reinstall the drivers and you should see the NI-DAQmx library in CVI.

Good luck and best regards,

Yes, the box is checked.  And yes, I installed the NI-DAQmx driver package, actually twice -- once from the driver CD's and once by downloaing the NI-DAQmx specific driver package, 466 Mbytes of it, and installing it.

I managed to get NI-DAQmx to appear on the Library menu by manually finding all the necessry files and installing them.  But the Legacy NI-DAQ still does not appear.  Fortunately, I don't need the older stuff at this time.

Thanks for the suggestion.
