Why does my GPIB communication get stuck unless my NI SPY is operating?

Hi
I'm using TS3.0+CVI7.0

I'm experiencing communication problems with my GPIB, which do not happen if the NI SPY is operating. I assume this program slow the communication speed.

Is there a way to reduce the GPIB communication speed (or wait time or whatever....)?

Did anybody experience that and willing to share his solutions?

Thanks

Hi
I need to know if your GPIB seems to be running slow or do you need to slow the communication speed. Also, are you saying that you have communication problems with the GPIB if NI-SPY is not running and it works fine if NI-SPY is running. As far as I know NI-SPY dose not slow down any communication with your device. Please elaborate on the issue. Thank you.

Hi Robin

You were correct! It works fine if NI SPY is working.

Without it, things don't run very well, and get stuck very often.

I assumed, it was due to fast communication. How can it be slowed down?

Pleas throw in any suggestion. I will try anything.

Thank you

Hello Robin,

Any more suggestions?

Everything works fine if NI SPY is running....

If no other choice, I would like to launchthe NI SPY programatically from the TS.

Can you tell me how to do that?

Thanks
Rafi
