advantech usb-4704 driver

Hi

I didnt know where else to ask.

I cant get the advantech usb-4704 driver installed on windows 7?

How do i install this?

I cant use the Bionic Driver because the program works with the other driver but it seem that only the Bionic driver is working correctlly on windows 7.

Please helpI need to get it working as soon as possible.

Hi Shako,

I'm assuming that you're using one of the advantech drivers from their website? Can you specify which one to help clarify your issue for me.

Also, could you clarify what you mean when you say you can't use the Bionic driver?

And I'm unclear as to what program is working and what your "other driver" is?  Could you explain this a little further?

Sorry, I'm having some trouble following everything that's going on here.

Thanks,

Sorry about that.

The program im refering to is the WaveScan 2.0.

It needs the universal 32bit driver and it is compatible with windows vista.

The Bionic Driver is another driver for the Advantech USB-4704 that supports windows 7.

I cant use it because WaveScan 2.0 and the Advantech Device Manager does not recognise it.

A program has to be written with the Bionic SDK for it to recognise the driver.

When i install the universal 32bit driver it is not allocated to the USB-4704.

Hi Shako,

Can you verify that the SDK was installed prior to the driver file being installed?  I could see that causing some problems.  As far as an immediate workaround, could you try running the Win7 machine in XP compatibility mode since the XP interface is supported by the driver directly?  There's a download available to do that from Microsoft.  I did an install onto my machine that seems to have worked, although I'll look and see if there are any issues that I'm not seeing yet.

Thanks,
