losing communication with SCXI

We are running a relatively simple program using CVI and an SCXI 2000 chassis
with an SCXI 1200 DAQ board. We are taking thermocouple inputs from an
SCXI 1102 also in the 2000 chassis. The program will run fine for a
couple of hours and then communication with the SCXI simply stops
and the temperatures stop updating. We have experimented with different
scan
rates and buffer sizes, this simply makes it take more or less time to freeze

depending on the change we make. Any suggestions would be appreciated as

we have tried everything we can think of

Hi Jeff,

I do not know what OS you are using but is it possible that the OS
scheduled tasks with higher priority threads start working after a periodic
interval. In such scenario freezing of your application is possible. Try
working with only systray, explorer in the background when your daq
application is launched.
Another possibility is use of old version of printer driver - some HP
printers do not have Windows 98 drivers.
I worked with SCXI 1200 and the Chassis and had no problems on Windows 95 -
although I didn't acquire data for a long time.

Hope this helps
Good luck
