rs 232 flow control terminology

Hello, I am trying to configure a RS 232 port so that the flow control is set to "hardware". I am not familiar with the terms RTS, CTS, DTR and DSR that the labview help uses to explain the Serial port configure VI.  Can anyone break this down for me?

RTS/CTS seems to do what I want, but knowing the terminology would be benificial.

Hi, this wikipedia page explains RS-232 standard including all signals on com port connector and some details about handshaking.
