Hello NI,
I am using several projects in CVI 9. Starting CVI, the last project is re-opened, including the last opened file tabs. Now if I switch to another project, i.e. open it via File/Open.., the current project is unloaded, the new one is loaded, and the files that were open in the other project are opened. As expected and very convenient.
The reason that I am writing here is that it happens that some files remain open in project 2 although they have nothing to do with it and belong to project 1. It turns out that these two 'superfluous' files are files that were opened in project 1, but are not included in the project file list.
In my opnion these files should be unloaded/closed on switching to another project, too.
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,
CVI's policy for managing files that remain open when switching workspaces, and the rationale behind that policy is described in this thread. It's a very long thread, and most of it has to do with investigating some crashes, but you can skip to pages 4 and 5 where there are a handful of posts which explain this policy.
Let me know if you still have some questions or disagreements.
