Installed NI-VISA 4.5 in Ubuntu 9.04

Hi

I was working on the Ubuntu 9.10 and it does not support rpm files. Shall I transform the rpm files into .det that is supported by Ubuntu? Thanks.

Kujo_Jotaro,

You can try using alien to convert the rpm's to dep packages. I have done this in the past with limited success, but I didn't spend a whole lot of time trying to get it to work on Ubuntu.

Hope this help.

Mr. Ox

Thank you very much.

These days I tried somehow to installed NI-VISA 4.5 &5.1 on Ubuntu "successfully", as the words in terminal told me again and again... However they seems not work when running our own project containing VISA modules and the error "NI-VISA not installed" just appears again and again. I am fully frustrated... Have you guys encountered with such problem? Thanks.

Kujo_Jotaro,

Unfortunately, we do not support Ubuntu or any other deb based OS. I was trying to install to Ubuntu a few years back to see if it could be done. If I remember correctly, I only got it mostly working.

However, I had to put that on off at the time and have not had time to investigate any further. I would try to follow the steps in the tutorials at the following links:

Let us know if that helps.
