NI-FGEN install problems on OpenSuse 11.3

Looks like this is a known bug, but unfortunately the fix hasn't been released formally yet. I'm trying to find out more details internally, but it would also help us to know what your situation is. What's your timeline? is there a hard deadline you need to meet? And how big of sales opportunity with this project?

I apologize for the last question, but the more money it involves, the bigger its priority and the more urgent it is. Business as usual.

Feel free to send me private messages to discuss further. Thanks.

There is no hard deadline. I really appreciate your efforts.

I work in a large fusion experimental device. Microsoft Window is normally used for a small test system.

But for controlling of a huge experimental device, Linux is a preferred OS. In my opinion, the request for the development of Linux drivers for NI instruments comes from large scientific projects such as fusion experiments. A scientific project normally doesn't make big money. Frankly speaking, I also wonder whether it imakes benefit to NI to support such an scientific project. However, we really need your supports.

I sent you a private message with a link to an unreleased build containing the fix. Let me know if it works. Thx.

After removing "shortsyms.txt" by using the following commands,

cd /lib/modules/`uname -r`/source

rm shortsyms.txt

I could successfully install DAQmx-8.0.2, private version of NI-SCOPE, and NIFGEN-2.4.1 on OpenSuse11.3 (32 bit, less than 4 GB memory).

This is the result. Thanks a lot!!

Hi, I now got the same problem with shseo. I have installed the DAQmx and NI-Scope successfully on RedHawk 5.4 (kernel version 2.6.31.13), And I could use PCI-5922 board successfully via DAQmxTestPanels. Then I installed the NIFGEN and encountered the same problem. Showing failed to load the PCI-5412 board with nilsdev command. So would you please share the fixed unreleased build with me. Thanks

Over a year later and I have come across the same problem (DAQmx and NI-SCOPE install and work find, NI-FGEN does not) and I've ended up at the same point. I presume the private build still has not been made public? If so, could you also share the build with me? Thanks.

Got the driver. Still not public, but works great (with all the aforementioned procedures). Thanks!
