Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Caching to the local client is done by design. As to the data size there has been a fix posted in this link, http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C1073?opendocument&node=132070_US. With this fix you will be able to specify the start and end time of the data you want to see.
Here at National Instruments we are working hard to provide resolution as fast possible. We are working on fixes to the problem mentioned in the Discussion forms and more. We will keep you posted whenever we have fixes for the problems.
