Copying objects and sizing all objects equally in Lookout?

Hi,

I'm using Lookout Direct so I'm not sure if Automation Direct's forums are more appropriate for questions.  I believe the only difference is the number of I/O access points available?

I have two questions related to laying out objects on panels:

1. Is there a way to copy an object and rename it without the original object name being changed as well?  For instance, I wanted to create 16 digital pots on my front panel but when I copied one and renamed it I had two pots with the same name.  I ended up using object > create for each pot, entering in the same upper/lower limits for each one.

2. Is there a way to size all selected objects equally?  Or at least a way to type in the size as a numeric value?  For instace, after creating all these pots I used the mouse to attempt to make them all the same size but this was rather difficult.  If there is a dialog box that allows me to type in length and width as pixels or something similar, that would have been much easier.

Thank you,

Dave

1. Create the first pot and size its digital display properly on the panel.

2. Select the pot, press CTRL, left click on it and drag it.

3. A new pot will be created with the same display size.

This is the fastest way. Another way is to copy the object in Object Explorer, right click on process name and select paste. But this way will not create identical display.

Another easy way to resize the display is to edit the .lks source file. Find the object, and edit its size parameter.

Thanks Ryan.  CTRL clicking sounds like the best solution when designing a panel while the .lks source file will come in handy if a change is made to all the pots.
