Crash during Compile in Lookout 6.1

When compiling my process file in Lookout 6.1, the lkworks.dll file crashes. I open the cbl.err file in the Lookout 6.1 folder, but all it contains is the following line

D:\Lookout 6.1\Processes\Water\ebfpsvr.lks

Does this line point to a certain error? I do not know where to look for the error from this one line.

Does lookout crash every time you compile this process?
Did it work fine with previous version?
If possible, could you send an email to lookout.support@ni.com with your process file? I want to reproduce it.

YES, it crashes every time I compile it, and

It compiles in 6.0 if I remove dscomm4.cbx from the Lookout 6.0 folder, which is the latest driver from Direct Logic. The previous driver, dscomm.cbx, is kept in the Lookout folder.

I emailed you the process file using the link you provided, but NI kicked it back so I responded to the kickback and told them to forward the email to you.

Could you send the email to ryan.shi@ni.com again? They did forward the email to me, but lost the attachments. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you also keep dscomm.cbx in Lookout 6.1 folder and remove dscomm4.cbx, will it still crash?
This may be the compatibility problem between Lookout 6.1 and directlogic driver. But anyway, lookout should not crash.

Ryan,

I emailed you the requested files.

Yes, it still crashes if I keep dscomm.cbx in Lookout 6.1 folder and remove dscomm4.cbx.

Thanks!

Ryan,

Have you had any luck with this issue?

Jason,
We added a feature in Lookout 6.1, and this is probably the issue. We guess that DSComm4.cbx conflicts with that feature. After all, we didn't do any tests with this 3rd party cbx.
Fortunately we find a way to fix it. I'm already able to compile it without error, but we need more time to verify it.
Since we don't have source code of the DSComm4.cbx, it's a little difficult to debug. So please wait for some more time.

Ryan,

I just wanted to follow up on this issue. I certainly do not want to rush you guys but just wanted to get an idea of where you were at this point.

Thanks!

I too am having a similar problem. My application uses the directlogic driver too. When I launch the process file with the DL driver in it, the screen comes ok. But when I put Lookout into edit mode, the microsoft hour glass icon comes up and thats where it all ends. In other words, Lookout locks up. In the xp task manager, it indicates Lookout is not responding.  In the MS xp event viewer, it says: envent sourse: Application Hang, catagory (101)  event ID:1002:  " Hanging application lookout.exe, version 6.1.0.27 hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x0000000".

I might add that this does not occur all computers. No problem on my computer, but my client is the one having this trouble in his windows xp laptop. Also, occurred with another client who was running lookout version 5.0.

Has this problem been resolved? If not, what I may do is change my driver over to the modbus driver.
