FPTC120 has bad CJTEMP reading and no open loop TC lites swapped TC120 module with no improvement.

I am using Lookout with FieldPoint software. I have several FP1001 connected to one FP1000. One of the FP1001 bases has a FPTC120 with no lights on the open TC slots. Fieldpoint software shows CHTEMP = 299 deg C yet it shows SUCCESSFUL under status. I have swapped the TC120 module but not the base. Could 1 bad pin on a base screw all this up??  Suggestions??

Let's take Lookout out of the picture here and test the hardware directly through Measurement and Automation Explorer. Does this give you the same problems? I assume the lights on the hardware do not work no matter what software you use. Also, try a different terminal block.

Finally, test to make sure there is a voltage drop across the terminals. Open thermocouple detection relies on a small voltage bias. Check out this KB.
