I had a lot of trouble opening Lookout from Windows Startup because it depends upon an OPC server that many times opens after Lookout is ready. I need to wait at least 20 seconds after windows is fully open to have OPC server ready.
I'm using Lookout 6.0.2
I know there is a way in Windows using a batch file, but there should be any other way to open the main application, as an aggregated object, right from Lookout. I think... I wish... To make a short Lookout application that can be opened from Windows Startup that counts 30 seconds and then, open my main application, that now is an aggregated object.![]()
Any ideas? Suggestions?

If Lookout and the OPC start as a service, you can set the Lookout service as a dependant of the OPC service. This will start the Lookout service after the OPC service has told the system it is ready.

That would work also. HOW?
Now we are using Windows XP PRO and Lookout 6.0.2. In a few weeks we will start using Windows 7 and Lookout 6.5.

This should get you started: http://www.petri.co.il/delay_services_in_windows_2000_xp_2003.htm
WARNING: This involves editting the registry. Make backups! Your own risk!

Thanks Mike, I'll get there, but still the main question is not answered:
Is there a way to open an aggregated object of Lookout from the main application of Lookout, by the program, when needed?
