I'm using LookOut 6.5 on an single XP machine to communicate with a Rockwell CompactLogic Controller via an RSLinx OPC Topic. Once in a while, Lookout freezes and the PC needs to be shut down. When attempting to launch the project after the reboot, LookOut sometimes takes hours to complete loading. At other times, Lookout launches the same project almost instantanously. Not sure how to troubleshoot this problem, any help would be appreciated. I think that it may have something to do with the multiple trends screens that are in the project.

Did it work well before? If it worked without this problem before, I want to know what was changed.
I guess it's related to the OPC. The hours loading may have somthing to do with the OPC connection with RSLinx.

This has been an intermittent problem since commisioning. I tested the rslinx connection and it is good. I would like to schedule a remote session with you whereby you VNC into the machine and take a look for your self. I'm not sure how to fix this problem but both the customer and I did to get this resolved quickly. Please advise

This is something we noticed long ago, but may not necessarily be related.
Ours has been linked to the database. After a hard shutdown (not always though!) the lookout service can take from 5 minutes to 3 hours to load completely. In the time it is "loading", sql server and nictdl5 are using a larger amount of resources than normal (memory usage over 300MB and CPU uses 50% of one core).
Best of luck,
Mike

Thanks for the post, my problem sounds very similar to yours, Lookout basically cripples the machine when trying to load because its hogging all the system resources. Did you ever find a fix for your problem?
